Wet Paint is a traveling art show, curated by Dave Ross a/k/a Persue, that captures the palpable tension between the MTA and graffiti writers in New York City. When the authorities clean up subway station graffiti by painting over it, they routinely hang a “Wet Paint” sign in the area. Persue pulled down hundreds of these signs and sent them to artists around the world. Each artist made their sign uniquely beautiful. Persue then built his own train station here at the Museum of Graffiti and hung the signs for our visitors to take home.
